About

Made with AI, made for families

We're a small studio building short fiction that a seven-year-old and their grandparent can enjoy in the same room, at the same time, for the same reasons.

Why short

Seven minutes is about as long as a bedtime window, a car ride, or the patience of anyone waiting for dinner. We'd rather make one tight story with a real turn in it than stretch it into something nobody finishes.

How the AI part works

Our films are produced with generative AI tools: image, animation and voice models sit in the pipeline alongside human writers, editors and reviewers. Every character, voice and setting is synthetic — nobody in a HearthReel film is a real person, and no child is filmed, recorded or depicted from life.

A human on our team reviews every frame and every line before a story is released, against a checklist for age-appropriateness, tone and accuracy. We say this on every page because we think families deserve to know what they're watching. Read the full AI disclosure.

It's fiction

HearthReel stories are invented. Characters, families, towns and events don't exist. We don't dramatise real news, real crimes or real families, and we don't present a story as something that happened.

What we won't do

  • · No advertising to children, and no purchase prompts aimed at them.
  • · No fake scarcity, countdown pressure, or hidden auto-renewals.
  • · No third-party ad trackers or data brokers. Our analytics are aggregate and cookieless.
  • · No snark. Our characters can be wrong, tired or stubborn — they're never cruel for a laugh.
